Wtf is going on?

After I got off work tonight.. I jumped in my car as usual and was ready to go home. I put my keys in the ignition, turned them & nothing. Was I pissed. I could swear I never left my headlights/domelight on. So my battery was dead. Or so I thought? So.. I call my father to come jump me.. everything goes swell, I drive around for awhile.. and finally make my way home.

When I get home.. i decide to start my car up again.. to see if it will start. Nothing. Okay, this is when I got REALLY pissed. What the hell was going on? My dad tells me I need to let it charge.. so he pulls out this battery charger.. and we hook it up to let it charge. Well, about 5 mins ago we went out to take the charger out & see if it would start. My domelights/headlights and everything work fine be4 i start it.. I put my keys in the ignition. Boom everything goes dark. Won't start.

Anyone have any idea on what the hell is going on? Is it something from my newly aquired amp? I have never had any problems with my electrical system.. even with my previous setup. I have been running this new amp for about a month now.. never had any problems.

Let me know, I gotta have my car ready to go by 11:30 AM in the morning.

Check your battery cable ends.

Also I had a battery one time that had an internal short and everything would to be fine (dome lights, radio (stock)) until I tried to start it, then everything would go out. Took the battery out and had it load tested and it showed bad. Got a new battery and problem solved.

Good Luck!

The car started and ran fine after I jumped it.. so I doubt it's the alt.. also my sub and amp were working fine. I'm pretty sure it's the battery... or atleast I hope so.. I needed to put a yellow top in anyways.

You need a new battery. It just won't hold enough charge to start the car.

+1. Exact same thing happened to my brother. He drove home from work and the lights started dimming as he pulled onto our street. Parked the car in the driveway, tried to start it up again a minute later and it was dead. Jumping the battery didn't give it enough juice to pull out of the driveway. We put a new battery in there the next morning and all was well.
