WTF...high pitch noise coming from head unit?

Hmm...that's really odd I don't see how a grounded out speaker connected to an external amplifier can cause a head unit to make a high pitched noise.

I guess I'll check my speaker connections as well, make sure they are intact, as supa c mentioned.

You might want to also check the ground from the car battery and see if it is properly grounded.

The ground from the car battery is still the stock, haven't touched it.

update: I regrounded the head unit seperately from the wiring harness and checked all wires, and the head unit itself still makes the noise. Time to switch head units.

I'm looking into the Eclipse CD7000 now.
