WTF?!? Head unit in Honda Accord

Ok, so my GF just bought an Alpine CDA-9853 and I was going to install it in her 95 Honda Accord today. She already had an aftermarket deck in the car by the previous owner so I was like, ok, this is going to be easy.

I take the dash apart and get to the deck. I pop the deck out and look behind it, and to my behold, the deck was hard wired. The guy that installed the last deck cut the stock harness off and hardwired the deck instead of making it easier and going out and just buying a wiring harness to wire.

So, I decided to just cut the harness that plugged into the old deck, and hard wired the new decks harness onto that. After completing that, I went to turn on the deck and nothing. Blank screen. I double check all my wiring and connections and it seemed that everything was fine.

I am really stumped now because you would think this would be only 3-4 wire problem. There is ground wire, which I wired right because I'm using the same one from the old deck, but to get power to the deck would have to be battery wire and it's hooked up and everything but still no power.

I then tried to see if the old deck got power and it didn't even get power too. I am stumped and have no idea what to do. I looked at the Honda stock wires and matched it up to the harness it's on right now, but I have no idea which one is the one that'll give the decks power. Anyone know what's going on?

My dad thinks that I might have short a fuse when I was cutting the wires. I don't know, I'll go ahead and check. Check the Radio fuse under the hood right?

Also, what do you guys mean run it straight from the battery? How do I do that?

check under the hood my radio clock fuse is in the side of my dash.. there might be one on the side of the dash either passenger or driver side.. mine is located on the passengers side but i would check both if there are two options..

There is a fuse box that has fuses for many things in the car.

One of which, is a fuse for the radio. It should be about 10a.

In my civic, it was under the dash on the drivers side. It may be the same for the accord.

on the rpassenger side of the engine compartment there is a fuse box close to the firewall.....it should have a 7.5 amp backup fuse cheack that ive had a lotta hondas have that pop before the other fuse

Ok, so I'm guessing it's a fuse cause my GF just told me that her clock doesn't work, so I'm really crossing my fingers that it's a fuse. I'll check them out today, thanks guys!
