WTF do i do about this?!?!

i been in my apartment for like a week now. today some repair men came in to replace the smoke detectors. my landlord told me about this a few days ago. well i had like 5 other friends staying over. we all got totally trashed, lol. anyways, these repair men came, and i left to go drop off my friends in the philly area. the repair men had gone to lunch. i locked the door. when i came back the repairs were done. i open the fridge to grab a beer and i see i only have 6 left. i could have swore when i left i had like 15-20 left. i figure maybe i was just retarded and didnt realize how much we drank. i notice the repair men opened a coke and left it out. and also left out a bottle of water. so im like, ok, i dont care if they had a soda or whatever. well tonight after getting back from the bar, i realize that my jack is GONE!!!. a FULL unopened bottle is totally gone. Im so enraged. my 2 friends said they saw it on the counter when we all left. so it had to have been the repair men. and i bet they took my beer too!! God knows what else they took. now of course im gonna flip shit on my landlord tommorrow and demand he buy me a new 1 and a case. but wtf do i do to prevent this from happening again? i mean, my landlord and these guys have a key to my place. what am i supposed to do about this?

damm bro.....i haev a feeling that thers nothin u can do.....wait so the landlord let them in then??? cuz u said they left for break and so did u and u locked it,....so if the landlord let them in its his liability that ur stuff is gone....so he needs to get it back or pay you for it ....

well i had to leave cause i had to make it to my bank back home before they close and i had to drop off my friends. but even if i didnt leave when they were here. they can come in anytime they want cause they got a key.

yeah, either he let them in, or he gave them a key. i know hes responsible, and he WILL pay. and aside from the fact that i dont want to have to go through with this again and again, im afraid theyll steal something of value and i wont even realize it gone or i wont realize in time (b4 the lease is up).

most maintence crews have a set of the keys as well as landlords.

keep your valuables locked up in a safe, and if they are in your apartment w/out your prev. knowledge im fairly certain thats against the law. the only other option would be a survailence system

Yea, I'm pretty sure they have to give you a notice before they will be doing something in the apartment.

keep my alcohol in a safe? where could i find a safe that big? for cheap? but its not just that, i dont want ANYTHING stolen, and i cant lock everything in a safe ya know? im sure this is all against the law, but what can i do? how do i prove it was them the next time? what if they come in while im out without my knowledge? i wont have any proof to hold on them. and survailence is too much $$$ for a brokeass college student

That sucks, but that is true they do have keys and can enter whenever REPAIR is needed, but taking your s**t that sucks.
