Wow.....w7 really is > w6

I was running my 13w6v2 in a ported box off of a pdx1.1000. I just traded my extra 13w6 for speedfreak28's 12w7 in the jl prowedge. I liked my 13w6. It sounded nice, got loud, and could hit decent lows while still loud. WOW!!!! I didn't know what I was missing. This 12w7 blows the 13 away. It's sealed and it's a w7 which both enable it to hit lows that the 13w6 never had even seen before. It hit these lows louder in the sealed box than the 13 could attempt to do ported. It's only been a day but right of the bat I can tell how much more I'm going to like it. I know there's always different opinions when it comes to which sounds better (w6 or w7) but I think it pretty clear to me. Thanks to speedfreak28 for a great trade (btw)!

Yeah and it's hitting them just as loud if not louder than what the 13 was hitting notes at ported. I'm quite impressed.

i too find it shocking that the switch from a sq driver to a sql driver could yeild louder listening volumes.

i like the W6's in a low tuned ported box better then the w7.

I have two JL 13w7 hooked up to two US Amps MD3D in a sealed box,the difference in the ported sound is more output and airflow.In someways I kind of wanted that ported sound but my system would be a pain to redo. They both sound good though.

I just did the test myself....jl audio 1000/1 amp....13w7 in ported box vs. 13w6 in sealed box and my brother and myself were both VERY surprised that the w6 was hangin in there I would say 90% as loud and a mite cleaner. Keep in mind that the 13w7 is used and 13w6 is new and not broken in yet too...WOW I am still surprised. I think Im a W6 fan now....

i've been hearing this for a long *** time, w6/w7 are very comparable.

from personal experiance... the w7 takes the cake.

the w7 def gets louder than a w6, ive had both and prefer the w6 for clean and accurate response
