I remember way back when I first got into car audio, the world record was in the 160's, and everyone said 170 would crush bones and collapse lungs. I remember when I sat in Alma Gates' Bronco, I was actually kind of nervous, since it was (at the time) the only vehicle capable of hitting 170.

No bones broken. No lung damage. I survived.

IIRC, 194db is the amount of force that would compress air into liquid form, thus anything above this threshold is impossible within normal atmospheric conditions.

you can also check out craig butler, running 2 ddz 18s and 120k iirc, doing 179.4 at the headrest and ~183 in db drag.
it crack the 160 wall is a lot of work. let alone 180. which is 4 times louder.
I was there watching and filming when he hit that score at the headrest AND when he hit that score in db drag. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Edit: Also, they say that our atmosphere cannot support NEGATIVE pressure greater than 194db because then it becomes a pure vacuum. Apparently once it's a pure vac, it simply cannot get any stronger thus NEGATIVE pressure greater than 194db is not possible.

butler has the db drag , and iasca world record this year. i read somewhere that at 194 db it is no longer considered a sound wave, it is a shock wave and will cause serious structural damage.
