Well based on the general consensus I had a custom ported box made for my alpine type r's...it was a pain in the *** to squeeze into my 1990 civic but I got it done. Got everything in and what do you know...SAME PROBLEM!

I'm done son!!!! I'm takin this junk to a professional and having it looked at. Just wanted to give y'all an update because so many people posted on my last thread. Again thank you for the advice.

Dont care what was said in your previous thread, but there is going to be absolutely no SQ with Type R's and a cheap Kenwood amp that doesnt do rated power or do it cleanly.

And obviously another issue is you gaggle of jerks. I've heard plenty of cheaper systems then mine sound just fine. You guys are snobs, too much money and too little to do with it. Your only scaring away members with smart *** remarks and bashing.

It's not really an SQ problem its proper performance! We're talking low volume and absolute horrid sound. I'm not sayin a dude with a oscilloscope is monitoring my subs at high volume and seeing abnormal amplitudes and wavelengths. I'M SAYING IT SOUNDS LIKE **** AT LOW VOLUME!!!! Just cuz it ain't top of line doesn't mean it should sound this bad. Get over yourselves ****.

people can get a bit harsh around here, if you don't run thier favorite gear. that's why i've been abit reluctant to post.

but typr r's are "decent" subs, they should sound decent. either defective gear or defective install. box plays a huge roll in SQ, the best subs in the wrong box will sound like doodoo. medecre subs in a good box will sound decent.

see, this is EXACTLY the scenario i was talking about........ 11 posts of bs bashing before genuine interest in helping......... not great for technical traffic. would be great if this thread got cleaned up.

anywho- back to the task at hand. i'll go look for the other thread, and get the skinny, but could you post up all info? could really be that there is a problem in the kenwood, such as bad capacitors, or an rca channel. could be sub orientyation, really many things..
