Wow, blown away by EVs.....

So this guy at my school (UTI, its an automotive school) has a car with 3 10" EV speakers in it, he says they are "club speakers" he was about 1/4mile away coming from the far end of the parking lot and, his system was rediculously loud, and amazing sound quality ive ever heard, from that distance. Once he got up to us and parked, we were all amazed. They were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud and i honestly think they have better SQ than anything ive ever listend to. They are not for bass, not by any means, but combined with some nice subs, that would be a mindblowing system.

Does anyone on here know about EV's?

well he made a custom rear deck set up so there are 3 of them there. His friend said that on 6 out of 35 vollume they can get annoyingly loud.lol

Yes, they have been making pro and semi pro audio gear for ever. One of the original sound companies dating from 1930.

Good club and semi pro audio speakers and mics. Including many claissics like the EV 15L (or 12L) and the beastly EVX 150A and EVX 180A; 1000 watt 15"s and 18"s. Designed for both subs and mid/bass. Low x-mas by modern car audio standards. Excellent SQ and can pound all day, day after day.

I've used them as subs and in 2 way systems like floor wedge monitors and other 2, 3 and 4 way systems.

The RE20 microphone is still one of the best vocal, bass and kick drum mics ever.

The 10's are either from small 2 way PA cabinets or guitar/bass cabinets.

They are really nice speakers but they just sound good outside of the car, inside they sound really bad.

If you want to make your system loud and be hear from far away that's the way to do it. And for the bass you'll have to use pro audio equip to, cause pro audio have higher effiency than car audio and are retarded loud.

i went to a custom shop yesterday...and they were working on a guys car (accord wagon) that has 16 10in EVs...thats right 16

the manager wanted to show it off...but the 2nd alternator was running bad so didnt get to hear it....although i did hear a set of 1200 buck hertz components for the first time....and im beyond amazed by them

just a bit, it just pisses me off now adays, when i go to a carshow and i hear a car thats loud and sounds like shit then i look at it, and its some ghetto piece of garbage (the car looks bad too) and theres 6x9's or something mounted in the grill or something stupid. like i said your music is for YOU, because if you parked next to me, i don't want to hear your garbage

man everything u say on here you are complaining bout something is your life that bad or wat, and wat does your car audio system consist of 1 3.25inch speaker and 1 watt going to it lol i mean anyone whos into car audio more than likely if u have one sub other people will hear the bass, i agree the fact that people can be heard a mile away is kinda dumb but still

I wouldnt mind trying them out, but i wouldnt have room for a bunch of 10"s too. plus i dont want EXTREMELY loud mids/highs, mine are fine for me right now.

My buddy Collie has a Suburban with 36 B&C 12s and 28 Seleniun horns. Its the loudest fawking thing anyone has ever heard.
