Wouldn't 4 8s be louder than 1 15?

Why do you think that is? Why would 1 15 which is less cone area on the same power be louder? Just not enough box testing?
motorforce, excursion etc... Multiple subs dont add to the motorforce, its just constant for the same motor used. I've seen plenty of single 15s doing 150s musical but its rather hard with 8s unless its more of a limited bandwidth/more output style enclosure.

Makes sense. I'll quit dreamin and do 1 15! I'll definitely regret it if I don't take your advice! I know that... I bought a Skar... Lol

i hadnt decided what amp yet. but for a small amount of time was going to run on 2 apcl1500.1s strapped. I know they **** but it would just be temporary. Hopfully two more reliable 2ks strapped.
Or just a single 4k.

There has been a bit of controversy regarding strapping amps.

No need to complicate things if you don't have to. This is also a reason I would go with a single amp, single sub setup.

Less equipment to break and when/if it breaks, fewer things to diagnose.

How to calculate cone area

Cone area = pi x (r x r)

pi = 3.14 r = radius of sub

One 8" = 50.27

One 10" = 78.54

One 12" = 113.1

One 15" = 176.71

One 18" = 254.47

Two 8" = 100.53

Two 10" = 157.08

Two 12" = 226.19

Two 15" = 353.43

Two 18" = 508.94

Three 8" = 150.8

Three 10" = 235.62

Three 12" = 339.29

Three 15" = 530.14

Three 18" = 763.41

Four 8" = 201.06

Four 10" = 314.16

Four 12" = 452.39

Four 15" = 706.86

Four 18" = 1017.87
Ive already done 1 15 before. 4 8s sounds interesting and more cone area. Plus if I like it I could just swap to SSA F8ls which I would buy in the first place if @denim could hook me up with a coupon <3
The F8L's will be back in stock soon. They are available for pre-order at the moment. :)
