if your not lazy, paint can be anywhere from 200 to a 500$ job. most painters will agree if you sand the car down and do the prep work for paint they'll charge mainly for paint and labor to paint the car rather than all the body work. and body work on that car wouldnt be hard at all. most shops charge 1200-1500 for a good paint job. sometimes you can get lucky and get one for 800-1000. anything over that, the painter is out of their mind, or they **** and no one goes to them so they get all the money they can off of the few customers they have.

I have grown up around a high end body shop and wow are your prices off. To remove the panels, remove the engine (remember engine bays are painted too), scuff, repair, jam, paint, clear, color sand and buff expect to pay around 5g's for a decent paint job, obviously more work cost more money. Black cars will show EVERYTHING under the paint. If your going to get a cheap paint job, why not just buy an OEM black car.

im not lazy but i would not want to ruin a 12k dollar car with my zero body work skill. but ya id rather find a black one.
