Would this be dumb? 4-way front stage. half passive half active

I am thinking about moving my kicker 6" midbass to my front in the stock speaker location to get best mounting and propely sealed. add a 3.5 or 4" coaxial and the kicker 6 off of an EA4000 which makes them active. Then keep my SC6500 eclipse comps on my EA2000 passive and crossed over. I see it as the 4's wont need much power, but the kicker mids want 100rms a peice. Sound like a decent idea?

Dont waste your time, save the money and do it right. All these crazy ways you want to go 3 way with might work but will no sound any better. I say spend some time and build a diy 3 way setup and go active and you will never look back

What is it you think im doing? You are telling me to stop, and make a DIY 3-way. That is what I am trying to do already dude. I'm simply adding a 3.5" to my existing comp set. I just figured since I had the kickers already, which give out great midbass, i would add those also seeing that my eclipse mids have little to no midbass

no such thing as running a coaxial active.
This would be cotjones-worthy if you did it
well what i meant, in theory, is that when a comp set is ran active all the speakers are amped seperatly. ok, its not called active. just figured it would be called active since the speaker is amped without an external crossover.

you said you were planning on running them off hu power, bad idea

well, a 3.5" does not need more power than the HU can give it. i will lose more tuning with it being off of the HU from the amp, but all my tuning is through the EQ anyway so I can still get the sound I want, just no need to amp a set of 3.5". i just feel as if something is missing in my front, not enough depth. and i belive adding these will fill that gap for me. and some songs i listen to are so bass heavy i can barely hear the music, so adding another set of speakers should help
