You want subs that tune low and play low, I suggest going with Sundown x series. That's what they're made for.

Op: Do whatever the eff you wanna do. I'd suggest you do round ports so you can control the tuning easily. I'd keep the same dimensions and do four 4" aeros 18 inches long each. Should give you 34.5 hz tuning. Here's the cool thing, if you cover and block one of the ports, you'll be at 30hz tuning. Experiment and do what you want and learn the harsh lessons yourself. Bracing doesnt take up too much space if you actually calculate it all out. looking at about .4 cubes if extremely and utterly braced out to the point where you might have standing waves..
