WOuld it be easier to replace my HU or AMP to get active controls?? NOAH!!

If you are wating to run active, you need either a headunit with a lot of processing capabilities or a stand alone processor. Or you can use an amp with built in processing...like the Zapco DCS Series... If you are wanting to keep a flip-out then your options would be an Eclipse AVN7000 with the DCU-105 unit, or get an amp with the processing built in, and some one who is more familiar with alpine might know if they have a flip out that is compatible with the PXA-H701

I like my d310-h701 combo. There are several others that work also, such as the W200 etc. Another option with the 701 would be to get the dash mounted controller for it, allowing you to keep your current h/u. While not as nice, AudioControl also has this option availble with their DQX and dash controller. Several others do as well, but those are the 2 most common it seems.

werd son any links? noah your opinion??

I wish my active controls were up front, with my setup (whenever its installed) I will have to go back and forth to the trunk to make adjustments. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

^^ was gonna suggest the same thing.

As well as the AudioControl products you could get a Rockford Fosgate 360.2 (need a laptop for the tuning though.)

Not sure of the Zapco DC amps but as far as I know most "active" capable amps don't have time alignment built in. Not that its absolutely necessary but for me if I was going to spend money in moving towards and active setup I would be looking first for an HU or processor to handle everything in one package.

wooow efin expensive...

remember i only make 5.50/hour lol

is it worth it?? drop 1100 on HU and processor? then speakers/tweeters? or would i be satisfied with a new bundle set?

^^^
id like to keep my flip out..if i sold my HU i would want another flip out...would that be better than selling the autotek or another amp that has active controls and i could get a more powerful amp??

Get a Sundown SAX100.4 and you can keep your HU, or sell the HU and get an active capable HU and any 4 channel amp. I'd just get the Sundown as any decent HU you buy new is gonna run you in the 300s anyway.
