would I need an HO alt??

I have a 115a alt in my car. I am getting a system installed with two amps one 1300w and the other 200w. would I need a new alt for 1500w?

You could, but you may not. No reason to spend the money until you know you need to. Install it and see where you're at.

I've got about 1200 on a 110A and it works fine.

I'd say that you would probably have some issues with the volume up. My alt is a 95a and I have the big 3 done. The only time I get large voltage drops is playing test tones. You have approx. 20 more amps on your alt and quite a bit more power, so I'd say it's likely.

do a big 3 and make sure you have proper wire size and go from there
