Would an IA 40.1 be too much for a pair of DD 1508's?

are they SVC or DVC 1508's
if they are SVC the 40.1 is fine

if they are DVC and for daily use i wouldnt

we have run 1800 to a single SVC 1508 for burps no problem but thats just a few burps

for daily i wouldnt go over 1100-1200 each
What should I go with? 2 SVC? 4 SVC? 4 DVC? Also what kind of numbers did you hit with these subs and since they are 8's how low do you think they could get?

the 4 SVC's i was running did a 151.3 on a DD Z1a on the glass of my ranger i had

if you did 4 SVC you could wire them down to 1ohm. they would do very well.

keep in mind though they are $140 subs.

check the classifieds i know i saw a few recently for sale pretty cheap

Yea there is a thread for 4 SVC 1508's for 500+shipping so IDK what to do maybe a 10 or 12 that could take the power too just need some space back in my trunk for work.

I have my 4 1508"a running off of an AQ2200, and many people have said to the ear they are louder than my 2 18" rlp's were. Of course they are tuned to 40hz and the 18"s were tuned to 30hz. I do want to get a bigger amp and give them about 800-1000w each.

if you want to use DD go with a single 3510 or 3512

it will take all the power your amp has

^ bones... that is so stupid, a single 3510-3512 cannot take 3600+ watts... It just cant lol.

If i was you i would get the 1508s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

OR a 9518?

IA's site says

1800 watts x 1 at 1 ohm

900 watts x 1 at 2 ohms

450 watts x 1 at 4 ohms

Strapable Pair 3600 watts x 1 at 2 ohms

Two DVC 1508's will be about 1, but rise a good bit. I would say on Music that you will only see in the mid 900's and they will take that easy.

I was metering two 1508's on a DD M2 yesterday, Input Current was peaking at 120amps at 12volts or 1440 watts into the amp, assume 80% effencent and they were seeing about 1100 on the two. Took it easy.

We have one setup with a Memphis M class 1500 at 2ohm on two of the SVC's Guy beats it hard they are now about 4 months old and doing great.

I would suggest you do 3 1508's or 10's on the IA40.1 get the DVC's and put the box at the mid or lower end of the DD Spec.
