Would an IA 40.1 be too much for a pair of DD 1508's?

I think you will be ok. Just be very easy with the gains. Thoses subs are know to handle much more than their rated RMS (500w I believe) but with the IA 40.1 thats almost double that number per sub (900w).

Just use some common sence and you will be fine. Just because you have 3600w total, doesnt mean you have to use all of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Could any other pair of 8's handle this much power?
Not that im aware of. 10s would be another story and prob doable.

Audioque HDc3 10s with alum coils should do the trick. Same rules apply though, thats alot of power for a pair of speakers esp that small.

Alright now its time to sell the 15 and shop for 8's! Thanks guys. Box wise for the 8's how big should I go?

are they SVC or DVC 1508's

if they are SVC the 40.1 is fine

if they are DVC and for daily use i wouldnt

we have run 1800 to a single SVC 1508 for burps no problem but thats just a few burps

for daily i wouldnt go over 1100-1200 each
