Would adding a slim powered sub under my dash be good increase mid bass up front.

I'd like to bring more mid bass up front. I thought about getting an underseat powered sub and putting it up under my dash where there is some space over my steering column. Would this work adequately? Any suggestions one which brand would be better quality? Most seen on sites like sonics or Crutchfield all look kinda cheap.
