I tried for a succinct title, so here's a a little more info:
I've got two 4ohm component speakers rated at 80W each on a four channel amp that does 35W x 4 @ 4ohms. I tried bridging the amp, but in doing so it uses just the left channel input, effectively giving me two left channel speakers, but with 90W RMS. I've got the HPF set to 90 hz.
Even at 35W they can get loud. The amp's nowhere near clipping because I couldn't imagine how loud they'd be with the gain set like that.
I'm curious, I assume a higher wattage would allow me to get louder (something I really don't need), but would it also aid sound quality? I don't have a problem with the quality, I'm just curious as to how that works.
