Worth the Switch? 4 15's -> 3 18's

Im debating getting rid of my current setup that Ive had for a little while now in favour of 3 18" Mj18M's.

Ive got the 4 15" Aq's in a front facing wall behind the second row, slot ported @ 40hz

Im debating picking up 3 of the MJ18m's (not in production yet, so theres no hard specs for them) as Mark offerred me a pretty good deal. And building the same style box with the 18's along the top of the wall, with 3 8" aeros at the bottom tuned low low 30's

They would be run off the same visonik v4000xd amp, the mj's are svc 4ohm so I can wire the 3 to 1.33 and give them about a 1000 a piece

My only "big" systems have been with the Aq drivers tuned high, Ive never had a low tuned box, does the feeling of "bass" change at all? Like the AQ's are loud as hell, bu they dont really rumble or shake shit, just move alotta air. I can give the 18's the airspace they need as Ive got 17-18 cubes on hand here, or I can even wall behind the first row, and have 40 cubes lol

Would the 18's be any different? Just looking for some input. I dont compete so its just a daily pounder, listen to mostly hard rock, linkin park mudvayne type shlt. But I still want it to slam and hit you in the chest

If I did decide to swap, the Aq's would end up in the Crx. Just need some opinion

the 18's have slightly more cone area, but with 4 subs you prob have a 1ohm load so getting more power anyway. I dont think it will be a big difference. Why dont you keep the subs you got and tune the box in the mid to low 30's like 33hz or so??

I actually am not runing the visonik @ .5ohm forgot to change that, Its runing @ 2ohm, so probly like 500ish per sub as it is right now.

I cant change the current box, I fi had to redo the port, Id have to redo the box. its all fiberglassed etc

No, I dont have $3k to throw at this system, nor do I want to delete the rear seats, nor do I compete to need all that hype

Changing over to the 18's would only cost me $600ish canadian, thats including all 3 drivers and the cost of the new box

ive heard mj's dont get that loud, but sound great doing it. I would stick with what you got with more power tuned at 35 for more lows.

Im sorry, i just assume they dont get too loud.

Ive read plenty reviews, and seen videos of unimpressed people. (Not alot to go off of, i know)

3 mj18's walled. 147.0 legal... Not enough in my book.

If you decide to do them, i wouldnt mind seeing the outcome. Im in the market for a new substage right now, and the 18 caught my eye.
