yah, makes sense, but how do you keep the groove in the pieces at the right distance from each edge? If that makes sense. Really your doing a tounge and groove setup, with a rabbit bit, no?

Well.....it works like this.....

I start with the front panel. I go ahead and glue/screw the front and bottom panel together first. Then, you slide the side pieces in, and slide it as far forward (into the two panels you have already joined) as you can. Then glue/screw them in. Then follow with the back panel, and last the top. It will basically assemble itself. I should do a "How-to Video" because this stuff is hard to explain in words without actually showing how its done.

Actually Grant, that was my comparison of Trupan to Birch. The weight is nearly the same but birch is a little more expensive. When you compare Trupan to regular MDF, its nearly double the price (~$28-30 a sheet) and weighs in at 80% the total weight of MDF. Its quite a bit lighter. A sheet weights 76 lbs IIRC, and a sheet of MDF weighs near 100. Also, I think Trupan cuts and routes much easier, and I think it holds screws much better also.

Trupan cuts and routes like a hot knife in butter. I love using that stuff.
