I know all you want to see, are pics, so here they are.

Couple sheets of Trupan.

Just to prove it.

The weapon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Routered groove.

Rabbeted edges.

Rounded port edges.

And of course...the always popular gloss black paint. (And yes, its that glossy, thats my reflection in the paint. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thats all for tonight. Must wait for the paint to dry. Tomorrow night will be assembly night. Get it all put together and everything else routered. Then more paint. Carpet to follow the next night. Then it will be loaded up in the little yellow truck and off to Tommy.

Yea the room is nice, but my usable work area is about to get MUUUUCH smaller.

hes talked about that before....search for it. he said it wasnt a crap load lighter, and cost about the same if i remember correctly.

build looks good man, just giving you some shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Actually Grant, that was my comparison of Trupan to Birch. The weight is nearly the same but birch is a little more expensive. When you compare Trupan to regular MDF, its nearly double the price (~$28-30 a sheet) and weighs in at 80% the total weight of MDF. Its quite a bit lighter. A sheet weights 76 lbs IIRC, and a sheet of MDF weighs near 100. Also, I think Trupan cuts and routes much easier, and I think it holds screws much better also.

for that much id buy birch.... but as always good work man
Birch is still more expensive. I believe $.25 more per sq foot. Its only like .1 lbs lighter per sq foot, so there isnt an advantage. Plus I have Trupan available whenever I need it (where I work) vs. special ordering in 3/4" birch. Not worth it, IMO.
