I'm working on a food app and need quick feedback from my bass/audio fam! Please and thank you guys!

1. What is your experience when going out to eat and looking at the restaurant menu?

2. Is there anything that might help you better decide what to order?

3. If there was an image for every food item on the menu, would that help at all?

Images help. The food looking like the images after they deliver it to your table helps. Not just presentation, but portion as well.

Some dish review system can help as well, A 1 to 5 star rating along with some comments to help both customers and the restaurant to improve on the dish or add possible add ons to make the dish better.

Having food items organized properly.

Having the nutrition info is pretty important to your health conscious or active fit people

Some ingredient warnings for people with allergies to cover the restaurant's liability.

The taste description or popularity of the dish would already be covered by the review section and waiter/waitress knowledge.

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
1 - one selecting a restaraunt to try for a first time I want to see their menu in a logical order listing prices. A real picture (not some food modeled up pic) would help as well.

2 - people placing reviews would help but there is not standard structure to what they have to answer. So you end up reading 9 useless reviews of a screaming baby, a rude waiter, or a misc chicken dish they liked until you get to a singe review about specific items.

3 - real images taken from customers at the table and assigned to the specific dishes they ordered would help.

uber eats!!!!!
lol do you like to use that app or what do you like about it?

Pictures of the food The weight of the food/like how big the portion is

The fat and calories in the meal

How long it's going to take to cook my meal
Thanks for the response Hertz!

those are some great suggestions! I like the last one! That's something I had not thought about at all! That's such a good point!!

If you had an app that had a picture of every item on the menu along with all the info you mentioned, how likely is it that you'd use it?

Thanks for the detailed response Jeff! You too make some great points. I liked your idea of showing the portion size. I know sometimes I'm starving and I hate to see a tiny meal come after I order. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif lol

I'll ask you the same thing: If you had an app that had a picture of every item on the menu along with all the info you mentioned, how likely is it that you'd use it?

so REAL images and related reviews to the food item. That's great! Noted! I'll as you the same as I did to everyone else:

If you had an app that had a picture of every item on the menu along with all the info you mentioned, how likely is it that you'd use it?

i use that app all the time. i can order from my fav places and i know what im getting.
That's cool! What about when you go out to eat and have to look thru the menu?

If you had an app that had a picture of every item on the menu and some details about the food, do you think it would help and how likely is it that you'd use it?

its a cool idea. at times it would be better than asking the server as they probably have not had all the food on the menu. me personally i dont know how often i would pull out my phone to look but many others may do just that. its a good idea bro. get it done and let us know the name for it.

thank you for the support man. I appreciate it. I am trying to do my homework and get some good research. Many times I feel like pictures are a great way to make a choice or at least see if the description actually looks good too. but I need to figure out if people would pull their phones out to look. I call it SeeFood lol

Me and my friends say all the time we wish there was an app to order food from where ever we want. There is in bigger city's like New York but not where I live.

Id mainly like to hold in my hands a CLEAN MENU!!!.If i get a nasty/greasy water spotted Menu placed in front of me at seating,..I leave and do not come back..ever at that location..I dont even ask for a clean one. If the Menu is dirty, and this is the second most likely presentation of the facility(entrance cleanliness and or hostess representative). To me, states no respect for the consumer, let alone for the facility.

lol I know right!! they only have those apps and services in bigger cities. they don't have it where I live either. that's why I'm at least trying to solve the problem of choosing what to eat when we go out to restaurants.

Good points! I have been to restaurants that have some greasy and dirty looking menus. that can only speak about how the restaurant holds itself. One more question

If you had an app where you could search for a picture of every item on the menu along with details & nutritional info, how likely is it that you'd actually use it to help you order?

that's awesome! well I'm trying to figure out if this is something people would actually pull out and use on their phone when they are going to order.

-Drink Pairing suggestion (helps sell more drinks and helps the customer decide)

-Separate Dessert menu (If on an app you could do a push notification at a time interval... like 45min to an hour after they last viewed the menu)

-Specials/discounts. An option to 'get specials' pushed to your phone from restaurants you pick

-Interactive menu. Again if in the app you could have a short clip from the chef describing the dish and showing the portion size (re-iterating the drink pairing as well to boost sales)

-Incentive to use the app. Check in at a certain location so many times and you get a free appetizer or dessert, something like that.

The hardest part for me to decide is boredom with the menu. I like variety and if I eat at a restaurant frequently I've tried most of it, leaving me wanting something new. A new item notification at your favorite places would be cool to possibly choose a different place beforehand.

im located in the desert. phx az.
Lol nice! I have a few friends there. My friend from Phoenix is actually coming down to visit tomorrow. I'm in Salinas near SF.

Thanks for the reply db. Hmm so you like to try new things rather than the same old things. Notifications would be awesome! I know I wanted to go get endless shrimp at red lobster the other day but I wasn't sure if it was still going on. If I had a notification of that or any other specials going on, I might want to see them too. Great idea db!

So if you had an image of every item on the menu, do you think that might help you decide on what to order or maybe he'll you try something new and do you think you'd actually pull up the app on your phone?
