woofer location would give me what kinda gain?

what would I gain SQ wise by moving the woof from the top, to the bottom of my door. i should be getting a knock on the door any minute with a guy arms full with eighteen 18 x 34 sheets of deadener. i wanna know if it is REALLY a HUGE difference because im lazy and just wanna get the deadener on there. not gonna

A sub suspened in the middle of a room = spherical dispersion would be flat or 0

on the ground = hemishere or 1/2 sphere

on the ground against a wall = 1/4 sphere

on the ground, against a wall in the corner 1/8 sphere.

any placement to reduce the radiation pattern should increase perceived output.

Also, the driver is on a plane most of the time in a door in a mostly IB setup. If you make an enclosure for the driver that would help too.

IMO it should be good there, especially after u deaden it.

I don't see how moving it 8" lower would be worth the effort. Deaden the door and throw a solid baffle behind the mid with some modeling clay. Should be golden after that.
