What is the "digital out" used for?

I have a pyle pld-135, stand alone dvd player. There is a orange "digital out" rca plug, I refered to the manual and it doesn't say anything. What can I use that for? any help?

Typically it is for Coax digital audio. If you have something that supports that then you can plug it in.
