woofer displacement

Hey I'v got myself some plans for a vented box im gonna build in the next week or so, but one thing i haven't got much info on is woofer displacement. I have a displacement figure that came with my sub and it says .058 cubic ft. How does that figure fit into my box planning? And how much does it effect your tuning? Thanks

you must design the enclosure with that added volume in mind. As it will take up space in the enclosure thus changing the enclosure size and tuning if not planned for. Although i doubt the effects of not planning for it will be audible

Ah ha let me answer It looks you you just need to build your box .058 bigger then you thought or just put in some poly fill with chicken wire holding it in

just whatever your box's airspace substract .058 from it and gotta subtract port displacement!

so build the box like.058 plus port displacment
