WMD2 w/ coil rub/Terrible PAP Experience

I'm not taking sides by any means here, but it sounds like the top plate may have shifted during shipment. This can happen, and may not be evident by external physical damage.

Very true.

With that, why did pap not insure the subs for FULL replacement value??

I dont know about you guys but I ALWAYS insure anyting I ship at full replacment value. If

I order something and have it shipped to me, I ALWAYS have it insured for full replacment even if

I have to pay the extra for it.

Just seems shady.

Are there any pics of the shipping boxes and packing material?

For a top plate to shift in shipping, there would have to be some kind

of damage to the box.

I have had (on more then one occasion) a sub with what sounded to be coil rub, simply have something in the gap and after a little play it will fix itself.
Hit the nail right on the head!

no physical damage to either of the subs. I hooked them up in my truck to test and as soon as the subs started to move, to my surprise, one of the subs started to show coil rub. I played the sub on several different songs, but the coil rub still showed and didn’t go away. I was hoping it would go away after a couple minutes of use, but no luck there.
Obviously coil rub still shows... therefor most can assume he meant coil rub was noticeable, not visibly shown. Thus my statement... all depends on how you perceive it. Most of the time coil rub is not visible, many times it is happening on the inside of the former as well. Thus again why I was saying, it is very possible he was hearing a rubbing sound but was not 100% sure it was indeed coil rub. Maybe the OP will come in and better clarify as to why he continued to play them, I was simply going off of assumptions that seem to make sense.[/quote

^^^ Exactly what I meant to say. Sorry I didn't clarify myself further.

And lemme get this straight....he did original order on the 11th. Couldn't pay for it all until the following monday....the 17th. Where he got a sale price (even though it was over) Tracking number sent on the 7th of Feb. So it took 18 days to build the subs, package them up, and ship them out.....How the fack is that 4 weeks waiting? It's not PAP's fault USPS took a week to ship.

Actually, I ordered the FIRST sub on February 7th via my CC, and called PAP that saturday night IIRC since the sale ended. They called me back and on the 10th, and told me they would give me their decision the following day. They emailed me an invoice on the 11th, and that's when I paid. Why wouldn't they ship using a better service; such as Priority or UPS/Fed Ex? Even then, they overcharged me on shipping...

And if he paid with a cc, he can dispute it through the cc company.
Right now I am disputing it via paypal. I was looking for their accreditation from the BBB, but no luck finding it. Through their site you can still file a complaint agaisnt their name, so that's what I did.

The fuck you talking about? Mike ordered one sub one day and sent money via paypal a few after since his credit card wouldn't process both at the same time. He had to send money via paypal transfer from bank. They did not send him the subs before he paid or anything like that. They also took a month to actually get him the subs after final payment was complete.
my thoughts exactly. this is total BS. a company sends a faulty product from the get go it should be covered.

its not about how he paid for them, its the fact that one of the subs has coil rub right out of the box and they refuse to fix/replace it and didnt even insure them with USPS for the right amount. I think they should cover shipping back and forth if a product was damaged/poorly built right out the box. I personally like PAP they did a great job on my soundstream XXX recones, and loved my WMD's but yes their response to calls and emails are slow as hell.
Exactly, it's not how I paid them, or how they got their money, it's their business practices. I think PAP did a phenomenal job on the other sub they built for me, and is why I want the second sub fixed. They aren't even trying to work with me here, and choose to ignore certain questions such as the overcharging of the shipping.

lmao at the guy who got all pissy that he used his credit card. the **** else are credit cards for? he PAID FOR A WORKING SUB WOOFER!

Mike have you actually called them? spoke to them one on one.

edit: i believe chemmins is a PAP nuthugger :0 no point in arguing with him. he will not be swayed from his beliefs.

From what i have heard from my brother, they seem to be screening there phone calls. After leaving a message he receives an email rather then a phone call regarding the message that he left. It very difficult for him to get a hold of anyone on the phone.

lolz at chemmins trying to defend them...
