Stay away from that amp..its not good quality, and very over rated/waste of your moneyI found a Boss Audio R1100M for only 50$ seems kind of cheap for an amp.. it is monoblockMOSFET Monoblock Power Amplifier
Remote Subwoofer Level Control Included
1000W x 1 Max Power
250W x 1 RMS Power
Good deal? Or is this a cheap amp that will blow?
Thats what all you guys think when you see 100 watts/1000watts posted..you think that thats all it can do maxed,or thats what the power rating is on the amp.Not true, especially old school cheater amps, and this is a cheater amp..Its 100 watts min@4ohms @11.6v even under rated back then, but what you guys dont know, is what is a cheater, and what isnt.I have one of these exact amps in my collection, and have ran all the series of Hifonics up to x series, and these are the best ever made as well as the viii series by Hfonics. If its not enough power to run your subs, I would have recommended it.Ill put money on it, that your subs wont be able to handle the power that amp puts out @50%gainThe hifonics amp you posted is only 100watts, is that enough power? I offered him a deal.
I think your friend may need to do some reading up on setting gains on amps..not all amps are equal as well as any component, even the same made amp, all are/can be different.Im not trying to be hateful to your friend, its just factsThey look so old that I wouldn't know how to hook em up. My friend says put the gain 1/8 of the way to the right or at 75% and that is deal for any amp.
