wiring up amps question

i see on all these mono amps that say like 2500x1 at 2 ohms, i have 2 jl 12w7's, they each run at 3 ohms, so when i wire it- do i look at the power ratings as (1250x2 at 1.5ohms)or (1250x2 at 3 ohms) ps. i know it wont both be 1250.

basically what i am asking

- can i wire 2 W7's into a mono amp and run them both successfully, maybe an orion 2500d

- how do i calculate the power going to each of these subs, being that they are both 3 ohm voice-coils.

If the amp is stable to 1.5 ohms, then yes you can. And no need to calculate. If the amp puts out 1000W @ 2ohms, and 1500W @ 1 ohm, then at 1.5 ohms, you should be getting 1250W. Then if you have two subs, they would be getting 1/2 of that 1250W (625 each).
