Thanks for all the help guys, I went ahead and sold the amp anyways. Kenwood was no help what so ever, as expected, and I just got tired of trying things and nothing working out... I need some opinions. What's a good 1400+ watt amp for a 17 year old on a budget? My friend has a Sony 1400 watt, I know it's not exactly the best but it's somewhat affordable for me so I was thinking about going with that. Anyone want to chime in?

your friend's Sony will make about 400W, on a good day. don't go by numbers printed on the heat sink. look at RMS power at 12V. ignore MAX power ratings and 14V power ratings.

buy one used in our classifieds. that is the cheapest deal you'll get on an amp that can actually make rated power.

Yeah, i've been watching the classifieds for awhile and have came across a few good deals, just need to come up with the money first. I race motocross too and that has pretty much taken every bit of my money so far this season... lol. Are you familiar with a brand called Volfenhagen?
