Wiring to neon light stick

I intend to wire two neon light sticks to my Amp which is pumping my sub so that everytime the amp is switch on, the two sticks will light up.

Safe to do so?

sure i did it. i have one "cold cathode flourescent tube" and 2 deep green LED's

just clip them up tot he REM wire and they should work. make sure they are save for 12v though. dont want any trunk fires =P

you can get the cold cathode tubes off websites for computers for real cheap - here is a link to a really good price.

i wouldnt recommend that unless you dropped a switch to your dash to keep them on\off. they would stay on 24\7 unless you did.

hook them to the remote wire to your amp.

be careful when wiring leds, neon, cathodes, etc to your remote wires. although they draw low amounts of current, the remote lead wasn't designed to power lights. it would be best to use a relay.

i was just going to run them off the ditro with a push button switch mounted on the rack... honestly i would not want these things running everytime i got in my truck to drive just on occasion that i want to be cool or something hehe i would want to be able to turn them off even with the raidio on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you have any pics of yours ? how long are they and brightness i am thinking of mounting them in a pannel undr my amps in the rack to accent them

Can't you just tap the power wire from your trunk light? That way it will only turn on when you open the trunk. That is what I was thinking of doing.

that is a great idea for people with trunks hehe truck people may have a tough time with it though
