Wiring three amps to two subs, is this possible?

I see pics of people with like 3 subs and 5 amps, how would i wire up something like this if its even possible? Someone please help.

Those guys have two high frequency amps and an amp on each sub at most. The only ways to run more amps on the subs than you have subs is to run one amp per coil on a multi-coil sub or to strap mutilple amps to a sub (only a few amps are capable of this). I can't think of a setup where you could properly run 3 amps and 2 subs.

There are 2 more amps on the sides, but they are not sub amps.

That pic has 3 JBL subs, power by 3 JBL mono amps. The other 2 are JBL 2 channel amps, one for the front, one for the rear. problem solved.
