i am running a hifonics brutus 1500watt rms amp and need to know if 2 gauge wire will be ok to do that any advice will help

RMS doesn't matter, fuse size on amp, length of wire. But 2 gauge will be fine as long as it's not more than 13ft @125 amps

Between known RMS capability and onboard fuses I'd much rather go with power, but either should give you enough information to pick the right wire size.

Some amps don't even HAVE onboard fuses.

125A @ 13' sounds more like 4 ga specs to me.

According to bcae1.com 2 gauge doesn't drop a half volt @ 15' until 208A.

If you can determine your amperage draw, that's the best way to go. Fuses don't tell you everything.....
