wiring positive and negative on speakers

i forgot to label which wire i was gunna use for posative and which for negative does it really matter and if it does how can i do it without pulling up my entire rug.

isnt the wire marked? most have the nomaclature stamped on one strand and the other strand is bare.

That will be entirely dependant on how you attached this wire to the device that is powering those speakers (whether it be the HU or an amp)

you can make either strand positive. can you see both ends of the wire or is one end already hooked up?

oh when i wired my speakers i used the one with the rf logo as negative and the bare as positive

No, but it will throw your phase all to hell.

i figured it out ill use my couductor light up thing and attach one end to one thing and the other to the other one and if it light up then thats the same wire
