just to make sure i got all this right im gonna put what im doing on here and hopefully someone can help me out.

im gonna be powering around 500-600 watts from amp to sub then another amp is gonna be powerin 4 speakers at 70w per speaker.

i need a 1/0 gauge amp kit. use the 1/0 wire with fuse(not sure what amp to get unless it comes with the kit) that goes from battery to distro box(not sure if i need) or can i run the 1/0 directly to the amp? if so then thats covered, if not i need 4 gauge from distro box to amp.

then from the amp powerin the speakers i need 16 gauge wire going from amp to speakers.

of course there will be a ground from each amp to a ground.

looking at the wires from knukoncptz since they are so popular on here. kolossal wires if i can find them in stock anywhere.

also gonna have to run a wire from the deck to both amps...power wire is it? forget what gauge but its very small IIRC.

i think thats gonna do it...anything i missed?

U dont have to use a 1/0 gauge, it would be nice for most current u can easily get away with a 2 gauge, or even a 4 gauge. U need a distro block to seperate the main power wire to 2 runs to each amp. 16 gauge speaker wire should be okay for the speakers. I use 12 guage for safty. U are going to need 10/12 gauge speaker wires for wiring ur sub to the sub amp. The wire u run from the deck to the amps I am assuming is the remote wire, whcich u can probably use 18 gauge with no problems. U are also going to need RCA wires from the head unit to the amps. Make sure u fuse the main fuse within 12" from the battery or main power source. It's also recommended u use a fused distro block but that isnt necessary. or u can buy a battery termanal with 2 4 gauge outputs and run 2 runs of 4 gauge (or 0 gauge) to each amp, this requires more wire so it'd be easier to use the distro block.

Thats all i can think of for now. U def. want a fuse at the battery, the amp of the fuse should be the max draw of both amps (say 1 amp is 40 amp max draw and the other is 80 amp, than u want the main fuse to be 120amp).

thanks for the information and help.

i picked up the Kicker PKD1 dual amp kit.

i think all i'll need now is another 4gauge wire from the distro box to the amp and either a fuse box in front of the distro or buy a whole new distro with the fuse in it.

good stuff, thanks man

John
