Trying to install a LOC in a buddies car, and the Bose stereo is kicking my ***. I have good power, ground, and remote lead to the amp. Im just having a hard time hooking up the LOC. I have tried tapping into a rear door speaker as well as the factory sub in the back. Just cant get a signal to the amp.

Is there something special I need to know about the Bose systems? Im not much of an installer... Any help, tips are appreciated.

I had the Bose in my 2007 MazdaSpeed3, IIRC when we tapped the LOC, the Amplifier was(I might be wrong, but I think) under the drivers seat, we ended up having to tap the output after the bose amplifier and going from there.

I just remember my LOC being located in the pillar just over my left shoulder, but at ground level.

Hope that helps some BJ

Grey plug, left side of amp:

Sub: White/Blue+, Grey/White -

Black plug right side of amp:

LF:White/Black +, Grey/Black -

RF: White/Red +, Grey/Red -

LR: White/Purple +, Grey/White -

RR: White +, Grey-

Grubbs, his amp is under his passenger seat. Not sure on the brand of the LOC at the moment. We have 2 different ones we have tried.

Mike, thanks for that info. We have tried tapping into some of those wires in the past, with no luck. Ill check what we have compared to your info, and hopefully we had a bad diagram before and were tapping the wrong wires.

If there is anyone in the Wichita area that is experience with this crap, hit me up. I have some beer and cash. haha

are you positive it's not the amp? Try running an ipod straight to the rca inputs and see if it works.

If you have a tone generator test the inputs of the amp, if that works try using a diffrent set of RCA's. If that still does not work take some scrap RCA's cut them off and using a DMM, measure to see if you are getting any voltage from the LOC (Take the scrap RCA's cut the plugs off around 3-4 inches down from the plug and pull the two wires apart. Then plug these into the LOC and meter it so see if you are getting anything form the LOC)

If you don't have a tone generator then here is a link to get one. Very, very usefull tool........................

Tried a second amp as well. We will do some more playing today. If we cant figure it out still, may just break down and buy that adapter...
wish I lived closer. it sounds like you're probably just overlooking something simple...

Ok, we got that harness in. Now we have other problems. Even with the orginal factory harnesses connected the radio, it will not power on. Just the time is displayed. Does the Bose unit have any sort of security features since we killed power?
