I was putting a pair of door speakers in the front doors of my girlfriends suzuki forenza after the original ones went kaput. I installed the passenger side and tested it and everything went good, sounded good. Installed the drivers side and not none of the speakers work and her power mirrors does not work also, so I will assume they are related in some way. When I was installing the speaker I pulled on the wiring harness and kinda felt like something slipped maybe. Any way I checked the fuses and everything looked out alrite after testing with a test light, so I am kinda stuck on where to go next? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

it sounds like you most likely accidentally grounded the driver side speaker out. make sure that the neither the positive nor negative lead is touching any metal in any way.

The harness I was pulling on was the original radio harness.

Can I check the harnesses at the speaker with a grounded test light to see if current is following? I'm pretty much down to wiring chasing and making sure that everything is situated correctly it sounds like.

Just go unscrew the speaker from the door and hold it. Turn the car on. If it is then playing music, then you grounded it out. A lot of times it'll be fine and then the terminals will rub against something after you mount the speaker.

I had the speaker out while trying to play music. No good there, Non of the speakers in the car are working after I installed the drivers side speaker.

If the power mirror are not working you more than a speaker short

You need to trace the wire harness in and from the door

Did you unplug a harness?

Did you pinch a wire harness?

Did you screw into a wire harness?

Did you get into the kick panel area (the door harness is in that area?)

the other speakers do not work. I have not gotten real involved into the kick panal area but I am going to start poking around the wires in the door and the kick panel to see what I fubared. I would assume that I would have to check the wires while the radio is on correct.

bolded above ^ is a double negative so that means that the speakers do work.

So whats the problem?
