Wiring help

Have you actually tried hooking up the system yet without the remote ground? I don't have a remote ground in my system and it works fine, in fact I've never hooked up a remote ground in my 15 years of doing this shit. Actually try it first, then ask questions. It's easier to solve actual problems instead of theoretical ones.

Sorry... I didn't see that post.

If everything is hooked up and the subs don't work, and you've checked all your wiring, then that's tough for us to diagnose here. Have you checked your gains? Make sure they are turned up enough. Does the stock deck have a built-in crossover? Make sure you aren't crossing it over too high compared to the amp one, or too low, if the amp does have one. Barring that check and re-check all of your connections, even the power ones. Where did you end up hooking the "remote ground" wire at? Try unhooking it and see if anything works. Good luck.

i hooked up the remote to the power antennae and ditched the remote ground idea. He has a JVC Kameleon LX111 Head Unit, i checked but i dont htink there is any built in crossover.

Well, the amp power light is on, but I dont know how to check if the amp is actually getting power. hmmm, that might be the problem. I'll get back to you when I see my friend next.

maybe you've got your signal cables wrong...

that was my initial mistake... my sub amps had power, but no sound...

when i checked and rechecked there wasn't a problem...checked for 30 mins, crawling in and out of the car...

then I found out that I had linked the deck's CD IN into the amp's INPUT... might be an easy a problem as that sometimes....

good one brown guy, cept MTXs can **** my N-u-t-z, alpine owns on the company. bt anyway we figured it out, we did exactly like you just said, we put the RCAs to the amps input. problem solved thanks everyone.
