I have a 400w 4 chanel amp / Pioneer 45x4 rec, / 2 mbquart seperates / 1 baxooka base tube. I will try and install but not sure of setup. I use to have a similar system in a differant auto and was professionally installed several years ago . The installer told me, as I remember, that he had used the amp for the quarts and the head unit to power the sub. Does this make sense and if so how do I do that.

If a better set up pleasse let me know. I'm not looking to blow windows out with the sub but do want the big base and clarity with the quarts.

I doubt that the HU would have enough power to push the sub. In your case what I would do is bridge 2 channels of the amp and send it to the sub; provided the sub can handel the load. Use the other 2 channels to run the Quarts.

+ of one channel and the - of another. If your amp is 100w by 4, then you can bridge 2 channels to get a single 200w channel. Since you have a 4 channel, I suggest looking at the manual (or on line if you got it off someone) to see which channels. What kind of amp are we talkin'?

Amp specs.

SPECIFICATIONS MOSFET

Power Supply Requirements........................12V-(11-16v) negative ground

Frequency Response..................................20-20KHz +/- 20dB

Output power (into 4ohm)

-4 channel....................................4 x 100 watts

-3 channel....................................2 x 100 watts, 1 x 200 watts

-2 channel....................................2 x 200 watt

T.H.D..........................................

Signal to Noise Ratio (A-weighted)............................>80dB

Input Sensitivity.........................................................100 mV-2 Volt variable

Input Impedance........................................................10 kOhm(Low), 100Ohm (Hi)

Speaker Impedance.....................................................2-8Ohm

Channel Separation 1kHz..........................................>60dB (1 kHz)

Fuse.....................................................30 Amp ATO (BLADE TYPE)

Dimension (W x H x D)....................................233 x 58 x 300mm

Does it say on the amp which channels can be bridged? Sometimes you will either see lines or aarows going from the + one channel to the - of another or you will see something like "+ of channel A to - of channel B" (or maybe 1 and 2 instead of A and B.)

By the specs, you can do what I said, it's just a matter of figuring out what channels can be bridged.

Gotta bring the kid to grandma's house and then go to bed. (I work 3rd's) I'll be back tomarrow morning. I'm sure that someone can help you between now and then or I will tomarrow.
