Ok first off I searched for this. 2nd I haven't done this in 15 years.

Just a little refresher:

1: I need to cut the factory harness and strip the wires

2: I need to solder the factory wires into my new decks harness

3: Heat Strink for factory look and connect deck

pretty much it correct?

i have had to do this before because the previous owner hacked the factory wires i have changed HU's 4-5 times without a problem as long as you know wich wire is which it will work ... but why do that if you still have the factory harness ?? id there a particular reason ?

maybe check to see if all the pins are in there correctly. maybe see if the radio is bad.

CHECK FUSES

get another wiring harness???

so many things to do, and wouldnt you feel really stupid if you hacked it up and it turns out the radio is bad, or you hacked it up and it still didnt work and it turned out to be a fuse!! i just dont want you to go and make a bad decision. take my advice man.

yeah, dont go cutting into the harness like that not knowing what happened first, if you set off the airbags or short something/ start a fire, youre gonna be really sorry.

Edit:

double check all the wires and make sure there where theyre supposed to be. if they are, and theyre labeled clearly, cut them and connect the 12v constant wire, switched 12v wire and the deck illumination on the batt + and put the ground wire on the - if the headunit comes on, theres a faulty wire somewhere or a bad connection/ground

and always disconnect your battery when working with + and - wires in your car

It's a 2007. I actually went to best buy and they didn't have a kit for this year and model. Also if you heat shrink wrap it I don't see how it could ground out.

there is just no reason to cut off the stock harness if you dont have to .. if you must go right ahead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
