Wiring Harness for 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I just recently purchased a Kenwood DDX512 that my friends and I plan on installing ourselves in my 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. I wanted to save a little bit of money by buying it online. I found this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12402_American+International+GWH-404.html, but I don't know for sure that it's what I need. I had read on another site that the harness there was for a 2006 Equinox, but since it was going to cost over $100 at Best Buy, there's no way that seemed right. Any help on the correct wiring harness I need would be great. Thanks.

Hate to tell you but yeah they are right. Does your har have Bose or onstar?

No I do not have Bose or On Star

You will need a MET-GMOS-01 harness for that car. It runs $100's.

You may want to consider having a shop install it. I cannot remember if that car does not have an accesory wire on the radio harness. If not then you will have to go to the underdash to find your accesory wire.

The GMOS harness has an acc wire but sime GM cars do not have an acc wire on the factory harness

this is true but the purpose of the interface when used without onstar or bose is to convert the databus signal into an acc source which is why some of those harness come with that relay attatched

According to Crutchfield, the GMOS-1 is for keeping OnStar, so I need that one even though I don't have OnStar?

all of those harness provide you with an acc

yes you need one even if you do not have onstar to maintain door and warning chimes

the 100 dollar harness provides u with the accessory power, the 15 dollar harness also works but u will have to go to the fuse box or the ignition harness to get an igntion wire as the stock harenss doesnt have it the 100 dollar harness interprits a data signal and provides one for u, also witht he 15 dollar harness u will lose ur warning chimes
