Wiring fuse in between amp and subs?

I have a Hifonics BXI2008D and it does not have a fuse in it. Could I wire a fuse holder in between the amp and the woofers? Would that be the same as having a fuse in the amp?

You want a fuse to be in your power wire NOT your speaker wire. So one under the hood would be the one to worry about.

the fuse for the amp goes between the power source and the amp....there will never be a fuse between the amp and subs. the internal fuses serve the same purpose as the main fuse.

Install a fuse into the power wire right before the Batt+ input. Hifonics gives it a 200 amp rating. Use a 150-200 amp fuse.

ya i had a 2008d, i put a fuse up front and one before my power wiring going into the amp..... i had an extra fuse holder and 200a fuse so i put it in there.

Yeah I already had that done I just was not sure if it was going to protect the amp from blowing. Because all of the amps I am looking at have internal fuses.

Yes, it will serve the exact same purpose as an internal fuse.
