Wiring Battery??

I have a Optima yellow top battery under the hood. I want to add the extra battery in the trunk. Where do the wires and fuses need to go. My last install had an isolator in it and I don't want all that this time.

pos to pos on the battery, fused closed to each battery. and either ground each battery to frame or ground rear bat to front bat

while i'm reading on this subject i have an optima yellowtop under the hood and just got a kinetik hc2400. Someone told me tho that i shouldn't use it because It will mess the batteries up since 1 is newer than the other and they are different kinds? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank You!

i suggest selling the optima and getting a kinetik 1400 or something to put under the hood

yes because if not you could strain the hc2400...
