i have no clue how to wire up a system, does anyone have an easy diagram or something? or somewhere i can learn but it be kind of in easy enough to understand language? my setup will be two subs, either 2 or 4 component speakers, two amps, and hu, if that helps

How you wire your subs depends on how many Ohms each is, and what they need to be running at. Wire gauges will also slightly differ.

i have 2 alpine type r's that are dual 4 ohm, so would that be diferent? and do i have to buy fuse, crossovers, remote turn on, seperatley or will they come with something?

also, if im getting component speakers and not mid and tweeters, do i jsut plug em in instead of those?

and if i do too high or too low of guage of wire will that make it short or something?

Those 2 subs I'm using at DVC 4Ohm, wired together for a final resistance of 1 Ohm. Fuseholders/Fuses usually come with an amp wiring kit if you decide to buy one. If you just buy all the wire seperately then you need to buy an inline fuseholder separately. Remote turn on you need to buy. Link

KnuKonceptz has good wire.

Those ones pictured are components. From the amp it goes to the crossovers, which then goes to the mid and the tweeter respectively.

There is no such thing as too high of a gauge. The bigger the wire the better. If the wire gauge is too low, it has the chance of melting, burning up, etc.

what about crossovers, what are they/are they needed?
it depends on what kind of speakers you get. if you get components, they will come with a crossover. but if you get coaxials, you dont need them. basically the speakers come with what they need.

and on components, the crossover filters out certain frequencys so that your tweeters and mids arnt being fed the wrong frecuency, which if you do give them the wrong frequency they will distort and eventually blow.

Generally people tend to run the wire underneath the carpet. People recommend keeping the power wires and the RCA's at least 18" apart. You could run power wire down one side, and RCA's on the other. Or something. Power wire from the battery can either go through an existing hole in the firewall, or you can drill one. USE A GROMMET.

There is plastic trim everywhere that is screwed down; that holds the edges of the carpet down. The seats and center console coming out will allow the entire carpet to be removed.

ha i remember when i used to think wiring was fun, then i did a bunch of different cars.

Now the fun part is tuning. Or that feeling of finally getting it all pwered up.

I've had a few friends that have done explorer builds. I can probable get you all thye info you need on where to run wires. And help.

Factory carpet always comes up a little. ALWAYS enough to hide the wires.
