Wiring ATLAS To 6 Ohms

Ive been researching a bit and found out that the Atlas can be wired to 6 ohms.

It will also increase power handling.

I was wondering if this would be the accurate and safe way to wire the ATLAS.

-Positive of AMP to Positive of SILVER terminal

-SILVER terminal to Negative GOLD terminal

-Positive GOLD Terminal to Negative SILVER terminal

-Negative SILVER terminal to Negative of AMP

This would be a question for Chad.

While you are correct; wiring the two coils in series would result in a nominal 6ohm load....the resulting performance and characteristics of the subwoofer may be very undesireable. Also, you wouldn't know what the resulting specs would be, so you wouldn't know box size, etc.

Lastly, that 2ohm coil is smaller than the 4ohm coil, and hence has lower power handling.
