Wiring Alpine Vs Kenwood????

Does anyone know if all of the Alpine HU wiring harnesses are the same?

Kenwood has changed in over 10 years. When I pulled the old 1996 model out of my truck (It was one of the original D MASK) I was able to just connect the harness to the X889 I just bought.

I have an older Alpine in a Boat, it doesn’t play MP3, so when I upgrade I am looking for an easy swap. I hope the Alpine HU all use the same harness.

either call alpine tech support with the model numbers, or just pull it out and see. it's not that hard to just swap wire harnesses

No they arent all the same. The Ai net units had a clear harness and the mbus units were black and they dont plug into each other.

And you can tell the difference from the model #'s. The third digit will either be and a for ai net or m mbus.

I need to change the cd player in my boat, I would like MP3 WMA as well as AUX input, I will look into the models numbers as I search
