Wiring a second battery

Do you have to have 2 runs of cables,1 pos.,1 neg.,when you add a second battery or is it ok to have the pos. run and ground it in the back?

Need to run an isolator or not needed?

can you have a reg.car battery in the front and say a kinetic in the back with no isolator?

with 1 additional battery, you'll be fine with grounding to chassis in the back instead of running negative to front battery. it's always good idea to use an isolator but with only one additional battery it'll be fine without.

Some say you can just ground to the back and you wont notice a difference from running grounds from the front. I have 2 pos/2 neg runs from my front and It's fine. I also run 2 different batteries from underhood to the back, and they are fine as well. People say they will discharge each other but I haven't had that issue yet and thats a risk im willing to take for some bs isolator.

How about if the batts are the same? im runnin max 2500watts. and i want to just drop 2 d34 (xspower) batts under the hood and be done with it. or just a d31, but ppl say they have to be the same or you need an isolator ect.. say money isn't too big of a deal, would it be safe to just get 2 same batteries, and an isolator?

yeah why wouldnt it be, if you say that money wasnt an issue.
