Wiring 2 shivas

What's the best way to wire 2 shivas (dual 8 ohm coils)? And what amp(s) would be recommended? All input is appreciated.

i would wire both in parallel for a 2ohm load.....and i would suggest an amp that puts out around 600w @ 2ohms.....

Hmm... so the dual 8 ohm coils are essentialy run as a 4 ohm load? So the two 4 ohm loads, wired in parallel make a 2 ohm load. Do I have that right?

Its pretty much 2 4ohm subs wired in parallel to crate a 2 ohm final load

Ah ha! It's all starting to come together now! And would you say an amp putting out 600 watts for the pair is about right, or do you have a different suggestion?

ur making it more complicated than it has to be but .....yes your correct......everytime u ad a sub in parallel the ohms are divided in 1/2.......basicly.....

i agree with Goddyd4me,

600w RMS to both woofers is good.

375W per voice coil; 650W total to the driver

NOTE: Power rating is thermal only! It is NOT a power requirement; typically you get full output with significantly less power than the rating.

There is my $.02 about 800w vs 600w

If you want cheap power,

Look into Profile, ikesound.com sells them for cheap.

If you want a better looking amp a MA Audio M1889i will do it

its 2 ohm mono stable.
