wiring 2 batteries?

Can someone let me know how to wire 2 batteries? Just run a regular power wire to the battery then ground it? What size wire if so? And can I use 2 different batteries? Thanks in advance.

parallel, are you using an isolator? if not, the batteries need to be as close as possible to the exact same, as in age, brand, etc. if you arent using the same kind, then i suggest an isolator
