Hi,
With my current setup im looking to build a false floor to keep things hidden. I am in the process of building the floor but am also considering the use of computer fans.
I have googled the hell of out installing them and have found the correct way to do it using a relay.
However, I am unsure of where to get my power from.
I have read that is not a good idea to take power from the amp power cable in the boot (trunk). I have an terminal with a grub screw connected to the battery for my amps power. Can I simply unscrew the grub and use a smaller gauge wire for the fans? OR have I got to get a new terminal just for the smaller gauge wire? If I did that, im unsure of where or how I am going to connect it to the battery as all the the slots have been used.
Also, the grounding cable. I have my amp grounding point on a anchor bolted to the side of the spare wheel well. I have been told not to use that for ground either. So am I going to have the drill another hole for another anchor point for my fans?
If I am going to have to do that, can any tell me where I can get a smaller gauge grounding point? All I have seen are 4 gauge, and that seems overkill.
I will probably be connecting these to a barrier strip as so I can have more connections on the future, but I just need to know the best place to connect the initial power cables as so it does not interfere with the audio.
I hope I haven't bored you! Thanks for any info you can give me!
