wire routing

I'm about to venture into my first decent system project and I'm wondering something. When you're talking about things like 4 guage wires and such, how are you guys routing those things. That seems a bit much to stuff under the panels at the bottoms of door frames and such. Anyone doing something like making some conduit and running them under the car, or what? I know. Sounds cheesy, but I'm really struggling with envisioning pushing wires under those panels, carpet, etc. I don't want a bunch of pooching and things that no longer fit. Maybe if you guys had some install pics or good explanation of this somewhere.

Thanks.

Just find a whole in the firewall and run it under the carpet/side pannels...theres more room than you think...im running 0 gauge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

If you REALLY have to run it outside, find something thick that is water resistant and tuff...Watch out for hot things such as the exhaust...

yea i run 1/0 right down the middle under the carpet in my silverado and it's not noticable. used to have 4awg run in the sidepanels w/ no problem
Silverado, huh. I'm in a Sierra. You don't get any humps or weirdness from the wires? Have any pics?
